Roosevelt students will have access to the school library, near the cafeteria, everyday between the hours of 8:20 am to 3:30 pm. Students can be in the Library during the lunch period and may come to the library with a pass during class periods. Library may sometimes be closed for maintenance or special events.
We have many virtual resources that are available 24 hours a day via our digital library guides and Clever library resources.
Our librarian is available during the libraries operating hours. Please allow up 24 hours for an email response. The librarian can be reached at aramis.sanchez@k12.dc.gov
There are many school resources that are available to you for both work and pleasure. To get you started we would recommend these resources:
1. DESTINY CATALOG -
The gateway to all our collections of electronic books. Here you can search for, check out or reserve any thing on our virtual shelves. Plus, you can access vetted, subject-specific websites and articles that match your search. (Just select Roosevelt HS from the list of PROGRAMS.) To quickly find eBooks and Audio Books, select Catalog tab and then "Destiny Discover" in the left column.
2. DC PUBLIC LIBRARY (DCPL)
Our city's public library system offers hundreds of electronic databases and electronic books that cover the full gambit of information (and entertainment) needs. All you need is an active DCOne Card or from the DCPL website, request a temporary card.
4. OUR LIBRARIAN -
Mr. Sanchez is our librarian. He received his undergraduate degree from Williams College in 2017 with a double major in English and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a concentration in Latino/a studies. He received his Masters in Library Science from UNC Chapel Hill in 2021.
