THE BASICS

Explore a wealth of virtual resources to enhance your research, study, and reading experiences. We recommend starting with these two indispensable sources – think of them as your trusted companions:

DESTINY CATALOG:

  • Your gateway to our extensive collection of electronic books. Search, check out, or reserve items from our virtual shelves.
  • Access vetted, subject-specific websites and articles that align with your search. (Remember to use your login credentials.)

DC PUBLIC LIBRARY (DCPL):

  • Our city's public library system offers a vast array of electronic databases and e-books, covering a wide spectrum of information and entertainment.
  • To access these resources, all you need is an active DCOne Card or, from the DCPL website, request a temporary card.

These curated paths lead you to vetted websites, journal articles, videos, and more, catering to your research, educational, and leisure reading requirements.

Mr. Catindig (Mr. Cat), our dedicated Jackson-Reed librarian, is available throughout the regular academic day to assist you with research, recommend reading materials, and help you locate resources. He can also provide guidance on avoiding plagiarism, including how to write citations and identify false information, among other valuable insights. Feel free to drop by the library to see him in person, or you can reach out via email (daniel.catindig@k12.dc.gov), with a response time of 24 hours. Your academic success is our priority.
